About the Studio
Rodríguez Studio was founded in 2004 on a simple conviction: that great architecture belongs in every thoughtfully designed home, every carefully reimagined workspace, every project where a client dares to say this could be extraordinary.
We are a principals-led studio offering full-service architecture and interior design, from first concept through construction administration. Carlos and Ivonne work directly on every project, from the first conversation to the final detail. That means you get two decades of expertise, genuine creative investment, and complete accountability.
Our design philosophy is rooted in timelessness and elegance. We believe great architecture must be beautiful and functional: spaces that feel intuitive, work flawlessly, and look just as right in fifty years as they do today. We don't chase trends. We build environments that endure.
We work with a select group of clients who value trust, collaboration, and quality above all. If that's you, we'd love to talk.
Carlos M. Rodríguez Infanzón, AIA, NCARB
Principal
Carlos founded Rodríguez Studio in 2004 after working on some of the largest buildings in the world. He had proven he could design at any scale. What he wanted to build next was something harder: a studio where every single project, no matter the size, was treated as a showpiece.
Before launching the studio, Carlos trained at two of the most respected firms in the world. At Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, he served as project designer and design team leader, leading lobby and public area design for the Museum of Modern Art and the China National Offshore Oil Corporation headquarters in Beijing, and leading an innovative curtain wall team for the U.S. Federal Courthouse in Buffalo. At Gensler, he contributed to lobby renovations, corporate interiors, strategic planning, and master planning projects across the eastern United States.
Over the past two decades, Rodríguez Studio has completed more than 150 projects in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Puerto Rico. Gut renovations of Manhattan lofts and TriBeCa apartments, complex apartment combinations, ground-up residential construction, and commercial interiors. Every project is principals-led. Carlos works directly on each one, from the first sketch to the final detail.
His work has been published in Architectural Record, NY Space, Modo de Vida, and El Nuevo Día. He has taught at the New York Institute of Technology School of Architecture, served as guest critic at Pratt Institute, and lectured at Cornell University, where he earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree.
Carlos is a registered architect in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Puerto Rico. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is NCARB certified. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Ivonne Perusquía Díaz, Assoc. AIA
Senior Associate Principal
Ivonne joined Rodríguez Studio in 2011 and has been at the center of the practice ever since. She directs project design and management, leads the studio's sustainability initiatives, and brings to every project something that cannot be taught: an eye shaped by a lifetime of serious engagement with architecture, culture, and the world.
That eye was formed across continents. Ivonne has traveled extensively through South America, Europe, Egypt, Greece, and the Netherlands, studying architectural sites and cultural landmarks not as a tourist but as a student of how spaces make people feel. She has studied French and cuisine at La Sorbonne, and architecture and film at the Architectural Association in London. Her minor in historical preservation at the University of Miami informs the care she brings to existing structures. Her minor in photography informs how she sees.
The result is an aesthetic sensibility that is both rigorous and deeply human. Clients consistently describe working with Ivonne as the reason a complex process felt effortless. That is not an accident. It is the product of someone who understands that great architecture is not just about what gets built, but about how the people involved feel at every stage of building it.
Ivonne earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami, where she was awarded the HABS Peterson Prize and recognized in the Habitat for Humanity Program. She is originally from Mexico City and is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French.
“We believe every project is an opportunity to create something worth remembering. We don’t chase volume. We invest in quality — in the design, the execution, and the relationship with every client we work with. Our clients come from referrals and return for more work. That’s the only metric we care about.”
